About Me

Dr. Snehasis Bhakta is originally from West Bengal, India. After completing M. Sc. in Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai, India, he joined in Prof. James F. Rusling’s research group for doctoral studies at University of Connecticut, USA. During his PhD, he mainly worked on development of protein-binding nanoparticles using surface molecular imprinting technique. Later, he joined in Northeastern University, Boston, USA for his first postdoc. In 2018, he came back to India and joined as an Institute Postdoc at Nanoscale Research Facility, IIT Delhi (Advisor, Prof. Prashant Mishra).  Currently, he is working as an Assistant Professor in Department of Chemistry, Cooch Behar College, WB, India. His main research is focused on development of smart nanomaterials using surface molecular imprinting technique for sensing and separation purposes. He is author/co-authored for 15 peer-reviewed articles. Dr. Bhakta has been teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses since 2020.

Dr. Bhakta loves cooking and travelling whenever he gets free time. Besides, he is interested in writing about the chemistry of our surroundings including food, environment, human behavior etc.
